Michael Wolff weighs in on Republicans and the Tea Parties:

http://www.newser.com/off-the-grid/post/404/its-not-politics-its-bo...

Excerpt:

Republicans, once the party of boring sobriety and solidness, are now the party of the kooky, the cracked, the unhinged. Republicans are not conservative in the least. Rather, they act out in the most deranged and dramatic ways.

That's not an article--it's a note. Besides that, Stack was not a Republican. A nut, maybe....but if you had read the man's suicide letter, you'd realize he was definitely not a Republican.

Yeah, I agree with you that Stack was at least not a declared Republican. His political ideology was all over the place. But a lot of his tax problems were due to getting involved with tax resisters (mostly a right-wing phenomena) during the 80s. But the blog-post could easily make the same point if it had left him out.

Here we see Tea Party leader Dale Robertson with a very tasteful sign (albeit with poor spelling).

Ol' Bobby Byrd's been elected by the tea-baggin trash from West Virginia EIGHT times.

They like that silly costume of his, evidently.

Byrd joined the Klan for a year when he was 24. He looks pretty old in this picture, so it has to be fake.

Good article. Mental illness and stupidity are what are really behind the tea-bagger phenomenon.

Angry, scared morons.

Everything you have posted to date leads me to believe you are the angry, scared, moron. I would guess you fear the tea party movement more than you do terrorists.

I do. They are alot alike. Both crazy, loud and doing what they do in the name of God.

The funny thing is the tea party movement started out as libertarian-leaning 9/11 truthers and anti-war demonstrators. It morphed from there into supporting Ron Paul for President. It was not until after the election that Fox News and others co-opted the movement and turned it into the angry mob it is today.

I wonder how many tea partiers know the history of their own movement. I doubt many do. Most of the original tea baggers left the groups a while ago. Once it became anti-Obama and not anti-war they left. (not that the original folks support Obama) I wish I could find the earliest pictures I saw (around late 2006) of tea party protesters in WDC. They are all carrying anti-Bush and anti-war signs. At one point the Code Pink ladies joined them in front of the White House.

Interesting, I didn't know that. One problem that the tea-baggers have is that there is no real agenda other then right-wing anger. The other is that they are include a lot of weird groups like the Larouchites, who will probably all end up fighting each other. Basically the mirror image of the far left in this country. Except people on the far left can spell, read, and actually know what Socialism is.
