MoveOn.org was having a rally supporting health care reform. One of MoveOn.org's supporters crossed the street to altercate with counter protesters. The result was a 65 year old man having his finger bitten off. Has Obamacare already driven us to cannibalism?
I see that you approve of violating the free speech rights of senior citizens by using scare tactics and extreme violence.
It's OK to accost a senior citizen until he is frightened enough to attempt protecting himself then viciously rending him into a bloody mess if it furthers your own politics.
You should work at a nursing home so you can physically threaten and bloody seniors on a daily basis. All the while thinking its just fine because they have Medicare.
Your version of events does not agree with that of the major news sources. The anti-guy was beating up the pro-guy when he got the finger bitten off.
An eyewitness says:
The man in the orange shirt hit the pro-reform guy (I'm going to call him PR Guy just to keep the players straight). Hard. ... He punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground and into that thruway. ... He got up, tried to get back up on the curb, but Orange Shirt guy was in his face. Finger in his face, PR Guy standing, steps up to the curb, and there's a scuffle. Orange shirt seemed to have PR Guy in a hold, but again, I was across the street, so won't state that as absolute fact. Next thing I see is PR Guy's hat being tossed into the street, both yelling at one another, then Orange shirt walks away, PR Guy picks up hat and crosses to our side.
When he gets to our side, he tells a story in one sentence: "He punched me hard, straight in the face, so I bit his finger off."
a man on MoveOn.org’s side of the street crossed over and shouted “Why don’t you like the public option?” Several of the counter-protesters said that they don’t want the government to run everything. The MoveOn.org man got nose to nose with a short, gray-haired counter-protester, and sneered, “You’re an idiot.”
At that point, I’m told the victim either swung at or pushed his assailant’s face away with an open hand, and his finger entered his mouth.
“It was a defensive strike,” said Scott Bush, who witnessed the altercation. He said the assailant approached him in an unpredictable and threatening manner.
The MoveOn.org protester then allegedly bit off the finger up to the first knuckle, and spat it into the street where it was recovered by Bush.
“I picked it up and it had a piece of gravel stuck on it,” he said. Bush rushed it to the hospital.
The attacker started back to the other side of the street, but then returned to briefly argue some more or attempt to justify what he had done before “swaggering off”, in the words of one witness. Deputies obtained a description of the suspect and searched the area but returned empty-handed.

Who interviewed witnesses at the rally, 20 minutes after the violence.
You know, reporter on the scene. Not some 3 hand story from the Moveon.org website.
He was there and reported what the witnesses had seen. I see no where that any other media interviewed or quoted any witness except the people across the street, probably 100 ft away.
If you can't believe the man who witnessed the attack from mere feet away and picked up the finger off the street then you have an extreme personal problem .
By your comments, truth only comes from liberal media sources and conservatives shouldn't be able to testify in court either.

No it's just conservatives have a history of lying. Remeber the girl who was attacked by an Obama supporter that carved a B in her face. The rightwing websites went crazy about that one. Oh the lies are too numerous to mention. Sorry but rightwing websites have no credibility.
Even if the old guy punched him, he should have defended himself like a man. Biting? Where did he learn to fight, rape prevention class? A young man should be able to defend himself from a 65 year-old without resorting to sissy fighting.
I hope they catch the dude. The reform side of the debate isn't being helped by dipshits like that claiming to be for it.
It's a good thing that old guy had medicare though. If Reagan had his way, he'd be a pinkie short and stuck with a hefty emergency room bill.
I'm not saying he was feeble but I just don't see biting or scratching or the like if you're an able-bodied man. I'm old-fashioned that way, I guess. I'd rather take an ass kicking than bite somebody like an animal.
