Is anybody truley tolerant. The real far left preach tolerance, but does anyone truely practice it. For example. I saw a group at a pro choice rally saying that the right wing christians needed to be tolerant, the 2 minutes later they where screaming things like "go back to the sticks you hicks."

So i guess you get to choose who you are tolerant of? but if that is the case, are you really tolerant?

Well, it take a lot of tolerance to talk nice about people like these.

well, i am talking about, if you believe in tolerance, then it doesn't matter what you believe in, you tolerate that person! I believe in acceptance. I accept people for who they are, and i tolerate their actions. I don't always agree, but they have rights.
I remember seeing this for 8 years.
If politics is your religion then there is no tolerance.

Yeah, this stuff's pretty bad, but remember that Bush killed kind of a lot of people, people who hadn't done anything to us. That really upsets some of us.
Yeah, it really tears up people like bin Laden.
Of course the difference is that the media largely ignored people with protest signs calling Bush "Hitler" (and rightfully so) and refused to legitimize their fringe behavior by broadcasting footage of it constantly or by echoing their wrong headed sentiments for the benefit of tens of millions of viewers on a prominent cable news channel.

But I'm sure you had taken all of that into consideration before making a sweeping assumption that everyone who disagreed with Bush was "intolerant" of him. Whatever that even means in this context.

It's not really an accurate comparison, is it? Once you consider that when people speak of intolerance towards Obama, they are referring to a very real segment of the fringe right that hates him for who he is and couldn't care less about his politics. The "intolerance" you are suggesting is aimed at Bush has nothing whatsoever to do with who he is and everything to do with his politics and his actions as president. It's pretty disingenuous to suggest that it's the same thing at all.

Here's some visual aids to help you understand what intolerance actually looks like if you still don't see the difference:

Hey Action Jeans,

Thanks for making a spirited defense of AA. I enjoyed the banter between you and Hillbilly in particular.

Its great that there are sites like Red State Update where those who are not hateful bigots and are reasonable patriots can make a case for and against such an emotive subject. I thank you sincerely for your input. It gave me food for thought.

BTW, -I didn't leave it... I'm on a years work placement over here. Much as I do love the UK I can't wait to get home.
Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to read and consider what I've had to say. I hope you enjoy your time overseas and get back home safe. I've actually always wanted to take a trip back to England. I was born there but I left before I was old enough to remember it.
So you're actually British? I think the best place to be is a US/UK citizen- dual national. Saying that I would never trade in my US passport for anything, so I guess there is a line in the sand. Nice 1 though.

All the best,

Gilo.
I was born a dual-citizen. I'm not sure if dual-citizenship expires once you turn 18 but I do have two birth certificates. I've only ever had a US passport. Never got a chance to apply for a UK one.
If I were you I'd get my British passport. You were born in England, you have the right by birth...-Worth having...Only costs about $50 to process. The reason I can work in the UK is that my mother is Irish and I have joint US/Irish citizenship. Its nice to join the EU queue at the airport and even nicer to join the US citizens queue when you come home..
