You know who I'm talking about.
Just ignore him to death.
I know some of you feel this place won't be as much fun without his lunatic ravings but by continuing to entertain his warped ego you are not only validating his "logic" (even as you argue against it), but you diminish yourself in the process.
When arguing with fools, don't answer their foolish arguments, or you will become as foolish as they are. Proverbs 26
The divisiveness in this country is no longer laughable (except maybe in China). It is a very real threat to our ability to function as a democracy. The "no amount of reason or logic" types must be dealt with, and seeing as we have freedom of speech and he can spout all the bat-shit crazy nonsense he wants to, the best thing we can do is ignore it.
As for the bigger picture outside this blog, boycott the advertisers on whatever news corp. you consider to be the propaganda arm of the "opposition". Write a letter to your congressman. Vote. If you don't like abortion, don't have one. If you're against gay marriage, don't get gay married. If you don't believe in science, throw away your phone, car, medicine etc. Most importantly, engage in reasonable discussion and avoid rants and diatribes that leave no room for disagreement.
Because if you don't, you're an idiot!

Permalink Reply by Van on February 1, 2012 at 4:40pm Here's why. Because we have a huge amount of these idiots in this country going around spouting lies. We also have lots of uninformed people who hear these lies and start to believe they may be true. For years liberals have let the right wing conservatives define the conversation and only tepidly respond to their propaganda. The result is that people vote for these Teapublicans despite their disastrous policies. It has brought this country to the brink of disaster. Case A: George Dubya Bush. Case B: 2010 elections. I may not change a committed right-wingers' mind, but maybe someone will read my arguments and have second thoughts about the Teapublican BS. How can the truth win out against a lie if nobody ever hears the truth? Besides I get bored and I like to debate, argue and mock:)
