Red State Update

Number one: Spoils always goes to the Victors and number two: there everyone knows there no true Spanish pure bloods, all Mexican is mixed blooded Native Americans that are South of border. And quite a bit of White in most of all of you due to the thanks of your women in the bars. But besides this lets not forget how your ladies graciously entertained General Winfield Scot's Army during the invasion of Mexico City. That must have made at least 80 % of the population mixed blooded of 1/2 Mexican and !/2 GRINGO after he finally had left.
Which he had proven how big of a joke the Mexicans were after the Battle of CERRO GORDO!

You know William, there were a great number of tejanos in Texas that fought with the Tennesseans in the Texican War - a lot of these Tennesseans were mixed blood whites as in Scot/Irish Indians - yeah some were actually from Kentucky like Jim Bowie and Alabama like Travis, but these lands were comquered by the Tennessee "dirty shirts". Tennessee got the nickname of the Volunteer State from the Mexican American War because although a regiment was called the Indiana something, it was really made-up of Tennesseans who couldn't enrolled in one of Tennessee's regiments.

But to the point, many Mestizmos were refugees from the harsh treatment of the Gringos and fled South into Mexico to escape oppression - so why don't we just annex Mexico like we did New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and California so we wouldn't have an immigration problem?

Neither Zach Taylor or ole Fuss and Feathers got the best of the San Patricios - that's the Irish that deserted the US Army and fought with the beaners.
Try telling me something I do not already know. I am Scott/Irish.
But you people constantly bring up how we stole the land but the one thing you forgot is after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that established the new territorial borders of Mexico and the United States we did decide to give the Mexican government $18,250,000 U.S.. And the Mexican government did certainly not turned it down, they took it so for you people who say we stole the land, again "B.S." on that! We could have given you nothing like other Senators and most people of America did not wanted that.
So get over it and move the hell on!
And about desertions.
The desertion rate was a major problem for the Mexican army, depleting forces on the eve of battle. Most of the soldiers were peasants who had a loyalty to their village and family, but not to the generals who conscripted them. Often hungry and ill, never well paid, under equipped and only partially trained, the soldiers were held in contempt by their officers and had little reason to fight the Americans. Looking for their opportunity, many slipped away from camp to find their way back to their home village.

The desertion rate in the U.S. army was 8.3 percent (9,200 out of 111,000), compared to 12.7 percent during the War of 1812 and usual peacetime rates of about 14.8 percent per year. Many men deserted to join another U.S. unit and get a second enlistment bonus. While some deserted because of the miserable conditions in camp, it has been suggested that others used the army to get free transportation to California, where they deserted to join the gold rush. This, however, is unlikely as gold was only discovered in California on January 24, 1848, less than two weeks before the war concluded. By the time word reached the eastern United States that Gold had been discovered, word also reached it that the war was over.

Several hundred deserters went over to the Mexican side; nearly all were recent immigrants from Europe with weak ties to the U.S., the most famous group being Saint Patrick's Battalion, about half of whom were Catholics from Ireland. The Mexicans issued broadsides and leaflets enticing U.S. soldiers with promises of money, land bounties, and officers' commissions. Mexican guerrillas shadowed the U.S. Army and captured men who took unauthorized leave or fell out of the ranks. The guerrillas coerced these men to join the Mexican ranks. The generous promises proved illusory for most deserters, who risked being executed, if captured by U.S. forces. About fifty of the San Patricios were tried and hanged following their capture at Churubusco in August 1847.
And once again, try telling me something I do not know.
I can play the same stupid game William - try telling me something, "I don't know".

The illegal aliens are that just illegal. I think regardless of what your race is, if you have to illegally come across the border, you need to be stop but any means. Fact is there is immigration laws for a reason. They are meant  to ensure quality can make a home on US soil. As for the spoils go to the victors, damn right. Each war has been paid in blood. And no soldier requires his life to be meaningless, if you just give back what you won.
